I was in Wal-Mart to get dog food. I know, I know, what in the world was I doing in Wal-Mart?
Well, I usually go to PetSmart and use their sales and rewards but I didn't have time -- so off to Wal-Mart I go.
While checking the prices with my coupons, a lady came over and just grabbed a HUGE bag of Purina One brand food. As this was something I would have done in the past, I could not resist RUNNING HER DOWN to give her a $3 off coupon from my stash. I was like, excuse me, ma'am, uh, excuse me ma'am!!! She was so grateful that she said that she was going to get another bag. There she goes, putting another HUGE bag of dog food in her buggy. I COULD NOT resist, I pulled out another $3 coupon and handed it to her, gave her a card for my blog, told her it was totally FREE and off she goes tickled as can be. She saved $6 ----.
I do this all the time -- it is such fun!!!!

Be on the lookout for lots of Family Dollar markdowns coming soon. The girls showed me pages of markdowns coming. FD takes all clipped coupons, FD coupons and internet as long as they will scan. You can "stack" one store coupon with a clipped coupon on the same item.I was in such a hurry I did not have time to check it all out but I plan to soon!
One thing I did grab was a large bottle of Softsoap liquid ($3.00) marked down to $1.25 -- used a .50 clipped coupon to get it for .75 --- Yay for saving.
Get that coupon stash out and head to Family Dollar in a day or so to see what kind of deals you can make.

Sunday School Challenge
Well isn't it a busy time right now? We are planning, shopping, cleaning and preparing for Easter, Spring break and so many things right now.
What about you?
In Sunday School this week we were talking about preparing ourselves for Worship. Worship of the Mighty God that is our Strength and Savior!!!! What do we need to do to prepare for worship?
We spend so much time doing the physical activities to prepare our home and families for this time of year but what are we doing to prepare our own HEARTS AND LIVES for worship?
Our Sunday School challenge this week is to wear a red string on our wrist to remind us to stay in God's Word, pray, seek God's favor and to examine any fault or sin that needs to be confessed, brought to God through repentance and pray and dealt with.
I want to encourage all of us to wear this reminder and prepare our entire mind, body, soul and spirit to eternal things of TRUE WORSHIP OF AN ALMIGHTY GOD THAT IS POWERFUL TO SAVE AND DEFEAT DEATH THROUGH THE RESURRECTION OF GOD HIMSELF IN JESUS CHRIST.
What are some ways you balance what needs to be done with making sure our hearts and lives are pure before God?

I am getting prepared for our weekend outing and Kasey's birthday party so I am looking for some deals.
Here is how my CVS trip went today:
Scanned card (2) times at price scanner : received $4 off $20 purchase and (2) $1 off CVS products.
1st transaction

Okay, I found something that intrigued me. There is a Dr. Scholl's Kiosk for custom fit orthotics and inserts (you know, that stuff that might help keep your feet from killing you). See all the info here.
But, to make things better, there is a $2 coupon here and a $10 rebate here. Prices start at around $34 and up so these would certainly help.
This might be great if you have a lot of trouble with your feet. (MOM ARE YOU READING THIS).

Every year at this time things seem to happen all at once.
Next weekend, we will be celebrating the RESURRECTION of our Lord, Jesus Christ; taking a family trip to the beach and celebrating Kasey's birthday while there.
How does someone do all this on (1) income and one-fourth of that income right now?
I don't know!!!!!! but I have to. So here is the plan so far......
We have rented (1) condo and will pile in together (5) adults and (5) kids. Cost only ($65 per family)
We will cook all the meals --- each family will provide (1) main meal for a day. Snacks and sandwiches between.
We are planning (1) outing, which is going to be putt-putt this year. We spend most of our time playing games and enjoying the beach.
Now, here is the Saving From The Heart part::

Corndogs with chips and dip are on the menu ------- EASY AND SIMPLE!!!
Throw some drinks in a cooler of ice and voila!!!! We have a very frugal birthday party blowout, family vacation time and then we get to come home and celebrate the provider of ALL THINGS, the LORD, JESUS CHRIST!!!!
I would love to hear some ways that you plan when you have several things to do and need to save money????

Whew, had a busy day --- My Uncle Bill was buried today. I used to love to go to Uncle Bill's house. He lived right by the "swamp" in Florida and he would always make our time fun. Fishing, playing in the water and looking for alligators !!!!! Good memories, I will miss him.

FAMILY CHRISTIAN & SEMMES MALL
I am planning an "almost Semmes" trip for Easter shopping. Wanted to share these Family Christian coupons here.
Also, have you been to the Semmes mall lately? You know, the Dirt Cheap at Moffat and Howell's Ferry!!!! Well right now they have TONS OF CLOTHING marked down $1, $3, $5 and $7 clothes. Here are some tips when you shop the "mall" in Semmes.
* Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes
* Use the restroom beforehand (JUST TRUST ME ON THIS ONE OKAY)
* Come prepared to take some time to go through the clothing --- this is not a quick trip!
* Check out the garments REALLY well for any DEFECTS!
* Check the little store tag to match the price color on the signs.
* Be prepared to sort through lots of racks to find that special something!!!!
While we are on Semmes shopping, don't forget to check out the Semmes outlet center. It is called the Goodwill Store on Moffat Rd. @ Shillinger's. Here are some tips for shopping the Semmes "outlet" store.
* Frequent the store (1) time a week or at least every (2) weeks to see what's new.
* Get a blue reward card that can be stamped for every $10 purchase you make.
Once the card is full, you will get $20 FREE!!!
* Shop Sunday afternoon when certain items are clearance for $ .99
* Do NOT rebuy items that have come out of your closet and are now on the racks. LOL!!!!
* Be on the look out for NEW items.
I recently splurged on a couple of things at CATO --- WOW, the prices are outrageous!!!!!
I can go to the Semmes "mall" and "outlet" and buy several items for the price of (1) at the "real" stores.
AND that is exactly why I shop this way, so I can splurge every now and then and not feel like I have wasted a fortune in the closets of my home with clothes purchased and not worn. If I pay a few dollars for something--- no big deal --- but, if I pay $15 or $20 AND ONLY WEAR IT ONCE OR TWICE --- WEll, you know!!!!!!
