From Ginger's Heart

You might be thinking that it seems too complicated or hard to intentionally try to get deals with coupons, rebates, etc... but let me share something with you.

As I have had to change everything about our expenses in order to live on one income, the one thing I missed the most was being able to give more.

Couponing has helped give that back to me in a small way.

For example, I may not have cash but if I shop really smart, I can give things that cost very little but can be special, useful and practical!!!!

Isn't this a cute gift!!!! I made this up for one of the ladies in church that has been in the hospital and sick.

Flowers are nice but they die, candy is good but stays on you :o) --- but Olay soap, body wash and lotion ---- woooooo now that's the way to treat somebody. LOL!!!!!!

Now, just to let you know, I have about $3.00 in this gift. shhhhhhhhh - don't tell.

Hoping this encourages you to Shop Smarter, Not Harder, Ginger

Coupons

There will be (3) inserts in this Sunday's paper. (1) SmartSource, (1) Redplum and (1) P&G.

I plan to get at least (3) sets!!!!

Online

Are you a teacher or coach? Here are some great patches to award kids and adults for various activities. I have used these patches for a girl's club. They are very reasonable and inexpensive.

Would make great VBS awards too!!!!

Let me know what you think?

Ginger

Winn-Dixie

Okay, went back to WD, here is how it went:

Purchased P&G Promotion:

(3) Febreeze Air Freshner
(1) Mr. Clean surface cleaner
(1) Mr. Clean multi-purpose liquid
(1) Mr. Clean erasers
(1) Dawn foam pump
(1) Dawn Hand Renewal Liquid

Total: $20.00

Paid for this at the register ---- received a $7 off next order coupon.

Went to service desk and cashed in my P&G coupons for $7.75 cash!!!

Final cost: $5.24 or .66 each !!!!!!!!

Went to RX counter and:

(1) Prescription - $8.72
(1) Deli Rotiss Chicken $4.99(for supper it was getting late)
(1) Deli Wings $3.00
(4) BOGO Candy $1.98

Total $19.24
Used $7 coupon -7.00 (the thing is you pay the $7 but you get to use that $7 twice!!)
Total 12.24

Total out of pocket for this deal was $24.48 including supper, husband's prescription, Kasey some candy, and (8) products to clean the house and make it smell good. Not a bad stop!!!!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!

I will save the receipt, maybe do the deal again before it is over and send off for the $100 worth of coupons when you buy $50 worth of P&G products found here.

Also sign up for P&G samples and savings here.

Dollar General

70% OFF at DG.

I stopped at DG on Snow Rd. today and they had a sidewalk sale 70% off. Coupon flyers in the front of the store!!!!!

I bought:

Cute quilted vest - $2.40
Boys 2/pc outfit - $2.25 (nephew has a birthday party this Saturday)
(2) Monthly calendars - .30 & .40
(3) Hormel Micro Meals - $6.00 but used (3) $1 coupons - $3.00
(1) Dr. Pepper - $1.00
(1) Cheetos (wanted to buy (3) but when the 2nd coupon beeped noticed that the back says (1) coupon per person per DAY!!! I told the girl that was okay, I would just take (1) and the manager standing there told me to just do (2) more transactions. How nice!!! Agreed that it was rather silly to make you come back to use a coupon, should have put a limit 2 or something on it. Anyway, they were very busy so I just did (1) more transaction on another. Very nice store!!!
But a big bag of CHEETOS for a $1 wooohooo, kids will be happy, those things are outrageous.

Anyway total paid was $11.40 --- saved $22.59 with sales and coupons!!!!

They also had several items throughout the store with coupons on the products, Glade plug ins, Oust spray, 50% off clothes, 25% off hardward, etc..

Good time to go check out the deals at DG!!
